NAM controls cell metabolism, redox reactions, mitochondrial functionsand energy generation. It promotes natural killer cells proliferation and survival. NAM confers neuroprotection and promotes neuronal maturation. It has the ability to cross the blood-brain barrier and may provide protection in ischaemic stroke and traumatic brain injury.
